Overview

Restoring the finish you can see

At VB Ceramic Coating in Virginia Beach, we use professional paint correction to reduce marks caused by weather, washing, and road contamination. Machine polishing restores clarity and gloss, while the level of correction depends on your vehicle’s paint condition. More extensive imperfections may require multi-stage paint correction.

Helps with

Who it’s for

Owners whose paint looks dull, hazy or swirled in direct light, and anyone preparing a vehicle for ceramic coating or other long-term protection.

Benefits

Why correct the paint

01

Visible clarity

Reducing swirls and fine scratches lets light reflect cleanly, so the paint looks deeper and sharper.

02

Restored gloss

Dull, oxidized paint can regain much of its shine once the damaged surface is refined.

03

A better base for protection

Correcting the paint first means a coating protects a refined finish instead of sealing in its flaws.

What to expect

How it works

01

Paint inspection

We inspect the paint and talk through what can realistically be improved before any work begins.

02

Wash and decontamination

The vehicle is cleaned and bonded contamination such as tar and tree sap is removed, for example with a clay-bar treatment where needed.

03

Machine polishing

The paint is machine polished to reduce visible imperfections. The number of steps depends on the paint’s condition.

04

Protection

We recommend protecting the corrected finish, for example with ceramic coating, so the result is easier to maintain.

Can paint correction remove every scratch?

Not always. Paint correction reduces surface imperfections such as swirls, light scratches and oxidation. Deeper scratches that go through the clear coat may only be improved, not removed. We’ll explain what can realistically be achieved after inspecting the paint.

Paint correction refines the paint to reduce visible imperfections. Multi-stage paint correction is a more extensive process, with additional polishing stages, for paint that needs more refinement. Your paint’s condition decides which is appropriate.

It depends on the size of the vehicle, the condition of the paint and the level of correction needed. We’ll give you an estimate once we’ve assessed the vehicle.

It’s a good time to consider it. Once the paint has been refined, a coating helps protect the result and makes the vehicle easier to maintain. It’s optional, and we’ll explain the coating levels available.

Gentle, regular washing helps prevent new swirls and scratches. Protection such as ceramic coating, together with maintenance detailing, helps the finish stay at its best for longer.
